Our perceptions are our reality. Our thoughts influence how we feel and thus how we make choices. Given this, it is not far-fetched to realize that our conscious thoughts have the ability to create our reality and that this is where intentions step in.
Phrases such as…set your intentions…create powerful intentions…be mindful of your intentions…have found more mainstream use than in the past. What do these brief phases mean and how do we go about doing what they say?
What are Intentions?
In their purest form, intentions are thoughts directed toward a desired outcome. When set deliberately and authentically, intentions have the power to come to fruition and create your reality.
Steps to Setting Your Intentions:
1. Let go of beliefs that are limiting you.
Do not put a limit on the extent that your intentions can become your reality. Think big and ‘out of the box.’ View your potential as limitless!
2. Be clear, specific and flexible.
When do you want your intention to happen by, where will it take place, who will you be with? Be flexible and adaptable with how you get there.
3. Take action.
Reverse engineer. Break your intentions down into specific goals. Keep your mind open to all possibilities when determining steps to achieve the goals you set. Execute these with a sense of immediacy, do not hesitate.
4. Celebrate when things fall into place.
There will be times when all things come together to move you closer to your intention. Congratulate yourself for making them happen. View them as affirmations that you are on the right track. Your intentions are becoming your reality!
